Dude... Brah... Yeah.

to sum up everything from last post (right before school go out) to now (not too long before school begins once again) is what i'm attempting to do, though it will be either rather difficult or a little rushed. i'm banking on the latter. let's do this.

...school died during exam week, there was no power at all. it was pretty cool, but having to drive my youth kids around in the bus to their powerless homes in THE most hellish driving conditions i've ever been in... was a little stressful. nonetheless, i got to hang real good with my roomie brothers, and we ended school in style. i passed everything, thank God... and dr. hunt. seriously.

i'm not absolutely sure what happened next. you see, it's been a while. i quit working with faith baptist church... it was great and i loved the kids, but i'm uhhhh kinda glad to have it behind me. i have been working at mt. lebanon baptist camp this summer, instead of ol' camp buckner... but who knows, i may be back next year or something... i lost my wallet during the early weeks of mt. leb... sucked, but hey. we learn lessons. even annoying lessons.

now for the big wild-ass summer event. i went to cornerstone '07 in illinois with my camp buckner comrade, michael "booster" hall. picked him up at camp buckner, got to see some old pals, then we drove practically forever through everything to eventually get to bushnell/marietta, illinois. and cornerstone. and my birthday. the twenty-first, to be precise. yaw. the concerts at cornerstone were so sick; instead of trying to sum them up, i'll instead list who i saw in sorta-order... hope i didn't forget anybody...:

jonezetta
august burns red
project 86
the handshake murders

...and some spiffy unknown/unsigned bands... woo!

i bought wayyyy too many cds... and nine (too many) shirts... and a hoodie... some stickers... ooh! i got a free hoodie from becoming the archetype's alex kenis... the insane guitarist... he's such a nice guy! i thought this the first time i saw them, but he went and had to prove himself all over again... and i got a sweet free hoodie. dang. well, booster and i had a great time there, met some awesome folks that God used to remind us how varied and just plain great His people and His creation are, made some friends a little closer to home, and for the record... fort dude-brah will rise again (maybe sooner than you think, world!). so then, instead of seeing underoath we went to chicago. and the most expensive motel 6 ever. i gotta talk to those guys... it was like 73 bucks. mo-tel sicks.

chicago, however, was amazing. the fields museum of natural history? awesome!! ahhh, i finally got to see the maneater lions of tsavo (in africa, pal) from one of my childhood favorite flicks, "the ghost and the darkness". wowee!! then, we went to the shedd aquarium, which i do believe is the biggest in the country. i would not be surprised. when we were done being totally amazed by God's creations in the form of aquatic things, we looked at the lovely planetarium they have out by the museum and aquarium, and soldier field! where da bears play footyball! we also enjoyed a taste of chicago where we got to walk around downtown and enjoy local restaurants' food. dee-lish. chicago is an amazing city: very health and environment conscious, and most people seemed pretty friendly... and pretty pretty. hahaha. oh yeah!!! almost forgot!! we also went to the navy pier. it was quite awesome. the weather there was lovely (while texas was flooding) and gosh... i guess just pretty fantastic.

unlike the drive home. but that's okay. we made it safe and such!!

then it was back to work for a weird week. then ibu's 21st, filled with much rejoicing. then another week of work, less weird and more busy and sunny. very sunny and hot. and tomorrow i have church, nyc trip training, and then back again to work. action packed. so what's ahead, you may ask? lots!!

nyc mission trip- july 24-29
lauren's wedding- august 11 (whoa!!!!!!!)
school- shortly after that... blar blar blar
...taking geology, psychology, dcm (don't ask?), and new testament. woop woop woop!
gonna be living with colin and aaron again, unfortunately no more davis brothers... :(
but then... later sometime...
cornerstone california?? sept 28-29. might be going. might be. with booster, aaron, and the aforementioned justin davis. jealous? you should be. and you should come. project 86, showbread, underoath, haste the day, demon hunter, and moreeeeeee hahahaha yes.

that's all for now, dearies and darlings.

yep, that's right. still no girlfriend. ...a good thing?

maybe. who the hail knows.

gbye now.

~the albatross does it all!!!
